Emeril to receive the Ella Brennan Lifetime Achievement Award

Emeril, Ella Brennan Lifetime Achievement Award

NOWFE to present Emeril with the Ella Brennan Lifetime Achievement Award

Each year the New Orleans Wine & Food Experience selects a person from the hospitality industry to receive the Ella Brennan Lifetime Achievement Award. This year it’s Emeril!

It’s extra special not just because it’s Emeril, but because Ella Brennan, his mentor, is the matriarch of Commander’s Palace who hired the aspiring chef at the age of 23.

Ella was nervous bringing him on board from Massachustes knowing the young chef would have some massive shoes to fill following the acclaimed Chef Paul Prudhomme.

The Chef’s first response when he met Ella to interview for the job was  “Well, it kind of smells like my mom’s kitchen.”

She hired him and as they say, the rest is history.

On behalf of  NOWFE, I would like to invite you to join us in honoring Emeril at our special Gala event to be held January 25th, 2018 at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in New Orleans.  We have a 6pm VIP event followed by dinner at 7pm.  For tickets please visit NOWFE

The award’s past recipients include Chef Paul Prudhomme, philanthropist Bill Goldring, Chef Leah Chase, restaurateurs Drago and Klara Cvitanovich, Audubon Institute leader Ron Forman, and local restaurateur Ralph Brennan.
