Rear Admiral Cindy Thebaud judging…

It is always an honor and humbling to produce the Navy Seafood Cook Off on behalf of our United States Military.  This year we did something extra special.

Normally, we pair each naval ship’s chef with a local restaurant chef.  This year we added a twist to it working with the New Orleans Mission’s chef and similar organizations that serve at risk youth: Cafe Reconcile, Liberty’s Kitchen, Cafe Hope, Giving Hope. Celebrity Chefs Keith and Nealy Frentz of Lola and Chef Daren “Smitty of Joey K ‘s joined us as well.  The event helped to raise awareness for our homeless community and Veterans in partnership with Mission Chefs.
